A woman named Thongdok from Arunachal Pradesh boarded a flight from London to Japan on November 21. The flight stopped at Shanghai, China for a transit halt. As a result, the immigration authorities checked the passport of Thongdok. Immigration authorities detained him for 18 hours as his place of birth was Arunachal Pradesh. The victim expressed her grief on social media saying that the passport was invalid and that Arunachal Pradesh was a part of China and she was mocking her country to apply for a passport. She said that at least she was not allowed to buy food and she got out with the help of Indian diplomatic personnel.
