Yunus was called a fascist murderer. He criticized that illegal and violent rule is continuing under his rule. Hasina spoke in a video message at the ‘Save Democracy in Bangladesh’ program held at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in New Delhi on Friday. Many ex-ministers from Awami League and Bangladeshi immigrants attended the event. Hasina made these comments on the country’s politics in the background of elections being held in February in Bangladesh.

Referring to the legacy of her father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, she alleged that today Bangladesh is on the brink of an abyss. His removal from power on August 5, 2024 was described as a big conspiracy. She said that currently Bangladesh has entered a terrible era and democracy is now living in exile. The killing of Yunus was a fascist, usurer, money smuggler and a power-hungry traitor.
Hasina said that under Yunus’ rule, human rights were violated, freedom of media was suppressed and attacks on women and minorities increased. He said that mob attacks, robberies and threats are happening all over the country. She said that the once peaceful country has now become a soil soaked in blood. She alleged that terrorism, religious forces and foreign countries have destroyed the country.
