A fatal road accident took place at Chevella in Rangareddy district of Telangana this morning. 20 people traveling in an RTC bus were killed when a tipper lorry collided with it. Many people were seriously injured in this accident.
Details of accident and death
The atrocity took place on November 3, 2025, Monday around 7:30 am on the Mirzaguda-Khanapur road.
Cause of accident: A tipper lorry loaded with gravel, trying to overtake a two-wheeler, collided head-on with an oncoming RTC bus on the wrong side.
Death toll: 20 people lost their lives in this accident. The fact that a three-month-old baby was among the dead added to the tragedy.
Injured: Those injured in the accident were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals. 14 people were seriously injured and had to be shifted to major hospitals in Hyderabad.
The most tragic thing is that when the load of gravel from the lorry fell on the bus, the passengers in the bus were stuck waist deep in the gravel and could not come out and suffered severe injuries.
Government’s immediate response and relief measures
As soon as the state and central governments came to know about the danger, they stepped in.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued orders for immediate relief measures.
Better treatment: The CM ordered that the injured should be given better treatment and if necessary, they should be shifted to big hospitals like Gandhi and Osmania in Hyderabad.
To stand by: The RTC assured that the families of the victims will get insurance and the government will stand by in all ways.
Monitoring of officials: Minister of Health, Minister of IT, Minister of Transport visited the hospitals and visited the injured and monitored the relief efforts.
Financial assistance from the Centre
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident. Financial assistance to victims from Prime Minister’s Relief Fund (PMNRF) announced:
For families of deceased: Rs. 2 lakhs.
For Injured: Rs. 50,000.
At present, the process of identifying the dead bodies and providing medical treatment to the injured is going on fast.
