The Kochi Commissionerate of Customs (Preventive) has launched massive attacks across Kerala. There were attacks on the homes of movie stars, entrepreneurs and senior officials suspected of illegally importing luxury vehicles from Bhutan. Officials have also investigated the houses of Malayalam star actors Dulquer Salman and Prithviraj Sukumaran in Kochi.

There were simultaneous attacks in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kutti Puram and Thrissur across Kerala under the name of ‘Operation Namkhor’ (vehicle in Bhutan). Officials suspect that high-end luxury SUVs from Bhutan have been imported into India into India. These vehicles will be purchased at Bhutan at a cost of less than Rs 5 lakh. And then remodeled with the Kerala number plate and sold up to about Rs 40 lakh. Officials allege that tax payment mistakes are due to selling these vehicles without paying taxes.

Customs suspected that some Malayalam actors bought some of them. Dulquer Salman and Prithviraj also attacked the houses. Officials, however, confirmed that the two had no illegal vehicles. There are allegations that there is a rocket from Himachal Pradesh.

Vehicles in Bhutan are being sold at cheaper prices and imported illegally without paying customs tariffs in India. They are then shipped to Himachal Pradesh and registered using temporary addresses. In this way, actors and business celebrities sell at high prices. Although legally sold in Bhutan, importing in India without paying proper tax will also lead to problems for celebrities.
