Panchayat elections will be held in three phases. The Election Returning Officer will issue the election notification on November 27. There is a period of fifteen days for polling from the release of the notification. The first phase of panchayat elections will be held on December 11. Polling will be held from 7 am to 1 pm. There are possibilities of two and three phase elections on December 15 and December 19. The State Election Commission will hold a media conference today at 6 pm. Full clarity will come on the date of panchayat election in the evening. While the government has already given permission to conduct the elections, the Panchayat Raj Department and the Election Commission have taken up the arrangements.
