Laika sacrifice: Now, every country wants to send their astronauts to space. America, Russia and European countries are sending their astronauts to space very easily. Bringing them back to earth safely. If not for the sacrifice of a small stray dog \u200b\u200b68 years ago, would a human dare to go to space? A dog named “Laika” sacrificed his life in space and brought space closer to man.<\/p>\n

68 years ago, on November 3, 1957, a small stray dog \u200b\u200bbrought from the streets of Moscow made history. She sacrificed her life for all humanity. The Soviet Union became the first living thing to orbit the Earth, aboard the spacecraft Sputnik 2. Leica is space travel, it is not designed to come back again. Leica’s sacrifice was invaluable in the intense space race between the Soviet Union and the United States.<\/p>\n

Weighing only 6 kg, Laika was trained to survive in the most cramped quarters of the spacecraft. Soviet scientists subjected it to many tests. It was placed in a centrifuge and shaped according to the speed of the ship. It was fed a jelly-like food delivered in space that could be eaten in weightlessness. A month after the success of Sputnik 1, Sputnik 2 was launched. Scientists have sent Leica into the void to find out what conditions are like in space. After 4 years of testing it, Yurigagarin was considered to be sent into space. Through Leica, they wanted to know what effect the conditions in space have on living things.<\/p>\n

Tragic Death:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leica was placed in a capsule and sent into space. Its heart rate, breathing and movements were monitored through telemetry systems. A Leica photo was taken in orbit by a small camera. Initially, the Soviet Union claimed that Leica had survived several days in space. But decades later the real thing came to light. As the cabin cooling system failed, Laika was found to have overheated and died within hours of stress. Laika’s sacrifice opened the way to space for all astronauts. It is still revered for its sacrifice. A monument to Laika was erected in Moscow and her sacrifice is still honored.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
