Prime Minister Modi paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi reached the 182 meter tall Statue of Unity near Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district at 8 am. Flowers were placed near the statue of the Man of Steel. Later, Prime Minister Modi took the pledge of national unity. A parade and cultural programs were held on this occasion.

As part of the program, the first Ekta Parade was inaugurated. A guard of honor and a flag march were held under the leadership of all women. Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), National Cadet Corps (NCC), band groups, horses, camels and dogs were mounted. Special performances include women’s weapons drill, martial arts performances, daredevil motorcycle stunts, unarmed combat performances and NCC performances. The program featured shakatas from various states, armed forces, school band performances and an aerial display by the Indian Air Force.

Meanwhile, before going to the Statue of Unity, Modi made a key post on X. India pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary. He was the force behind the unity of India. His unwavering commitment to national integrity, good governance and public service continues to inspire generations. We also follow our collective resolve to live up to his vision of a united, strong and self-reliant India,” wrote X.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi met the family members of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. Met Sardar Patel’s grandson Gautam Patel, his wife Nandita, son Kedar, daughter-in-law Reena and granddaughter Kareena. “I met Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s family at Kevadia. It was a pleasure to interact with him and remember Sardar Patel’s wonderful contribution to the nation,” Modi wrote in X.
