Chiranjeevi: In the background of obscene posts and deepfake videos going viral on social media targeting actor Megastar Chiranjeevi, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police has taken up a swift investigation. In this context, DCP Kavitha spoke to the media. According to the details of DCP Kavita, two cases have been registered so far based on Chiranjeevi’s complaint. She warned that some people are misusing the Deepfake technology to engage in fraud and blackmail attempts. “Deep fake incidents are not small. They are used for cheating and blackmailing. There is no way to ignore such incidents. We have registered cases and sent them to the nodal agency,” said DCP Kavitha.
She appealed to the people not to have misconceptions about the cybercrime police station. “Anyone who has become a victim of cyber crime can immediately contact the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police on 1930. We will take immediate action,” he said. DCP Kavitha suggested that people should be careful and not share such fake videos at a time when deep fake content is increasing.
