Himanta had made similar comments on several occasions before this. Gaurav Gogoi is accused of having links with Pakistan. It was alleged that the Congress MP had received an invitation from Pakistan’s intelligence agency “Inter Services Intelligence (ISI)” and therefore went to the neighboring country. Sharma alleged that Gogoi had gone to Pakistan for training and that Gogoi’s British wife Elizabeth Colburn had links with the ISI. Gogoi’s wife is accused of having links with the Pakistan Army. He is said to be a sympathizer of Pakistan. Himanta alleged that Gogoi was in Pakistan for 15 days without informing the Indian authorities and his wife was working in India and getting salary from a Pakistani NGO. However, Gogoi denied these allegations. If he is really a threat to national security, why is the Center silent, he asked.
