Annavaram: Giri Pradakshina of Shri Satyadev will be held in a grand manner today at Annavaram. Strong security arrangements have been made under the authority of the Debt Department. Giri Pradakshina will start in two stages on palanquin at 8 am and satya ratha at 2 pm. Officials estimate that around 3 lakh devotees will participate in this festival. In the wake of the recent Kashibugga stampede incident, the government has taken special precautions. In coordination with the police, medical and transport departments, additional personnel have been deployed to protect the devotees.

Meanwhile, every year on the occasion of Kartika Purnami, Annavaram Satyanarayana Swami of Kakinada district conducts Giripradakshina.. The number of devotees is increasing year by year.. Now, today at 8 am, a procession of Swami and Ammavar will be held in palanquin. Later, the Satyaratha will start at 2 pm from Tolipavanchala at the bottom of the hill. From here, the pilgrims’ giripradakshina is going to start.. In this giripradakshina which stretches for about 9.2 km.. the officials have set up stalls to provide food, fruits and drinking water to the devotees without any trouble..
