Telangana Cabinet Meeting Today: The cabinet meeting to be held in Telangana today at 11 am is going to be a platform for key discussions. The ministry will look into various urgent issues especially related to the power sector. Issues such as setting up of a new discom in the state, the financial condition of power companies, increasing debts and losses, and the effect of the hugely increased Singareni coal prices are likely to be discussed in the meeting. Proposals for rapid expansion of underground power cable system in Greater Hyderabad and setting up of new thermal power plants to meet future demand will also be reviewed.

The Cabinet is likely to examine the implementation of the energy policy, power purchase agreements and long-term plans to meet future power needs. In addition, it is reported that issues related to global summit arrangements, local body elections and final decisions on reservations will be on the cabinet agenda. Government sources believe that today’s meeting can lay the foundation for key decisions in the direction of state administration.
