CM Revanth Reddy: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has prepared a new plan to change the face of Hyderabad city as part of the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision document prepared by the government with the aim of developing the state of Telangana in a planned manner. It has been decided to develop the Core Urban Region Economy Area (CURE) especially within the Outer Ring Road with international standards. As a part of this, the ‘Cure’ area was reorganized into 12 zones, 60 circles and 300 wards to take the administration to a more field level. In the review meeting held with the newly appointed zonal commissioners, the chief minister gave the clearest direction on the cleanliness of the city. He made it clear that the officers should not be limited to the offices and should be in the field every day and monitor the problems of the people, only then the administration will take charge.

The Chief Minister took key decisions on garbage management and pollution control, which have become very complicated in the city. Apart from ordering a complete ban on plastic in Hyderabad, the government is determined to replace diesel buses and autos with electric vehicles (EV) to reduce pollution. It is the responsibility of the authorities to protect the city’s ponds and canals from encroachment, and to prevent illegal encroachment or dumping of waste, CCTV cameras should be installed in those areas. Stating that there should be no compromise in the matter of sanitation, he ordered that a special drive for sanitation should be organized for three days in a month and garbage clearance must be done every ten days. Zonal commissioners have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that there are no garbage or dangerous potholes on the roads.
The Chief Minister wished for technology to be used in a big way to increase transparency in administration and not just physical development. He called for providing civil services such as birth and death certificates and trade licenses transparently through online, thereby taking steps from good governance towards ‘smart governance’. It has been suggested that the officials should be in constant communication with the colony and apartment welfare associations and respond to the complaints of the people at the fastest possible rate through toll free numbers. He ordered to prepare a concrete action plan for the next five years and to start the silting of the canals in coordination with HYDRAA, GHMC and Water Works departments from January. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured that the future of Hyderabad will be wonderful if everyone works in coordination with special focus on basic aspects like mosquito prevention, control of infections and installation of street lights.
