Off The Record: The behavior of some MLAs has become a headache for the alliance government in Andhra Pradesh. The ongoing competition for supremacy puts personal reputation and party image in the market. In this direction, the affairs in some districts have crossed the limits….in the common Visakha district, the political atmosphere seems to be stable. If one of the coalition is not falling for one, it started within a few days of coming to power. In a way the affair went on to influence group politics. There are 15 assembly seats and three parliament seats in the district. Excluding Araku MP, Paderu and Araku MLA seats won by YCP…the alliance has 12 Assembly…two MP seats. Among these, Yalamanchili won by Janasena, Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, Vamsikrishna Yadav, Visakha South Constituency MLAs, Vizag MP Shri Bharat are the only new faces. All the rest of the leaders are those who have won more than two years….Senior leader Aiyannapatradu is the Speaker….Vangalapudi is holding key responsibilities as the Home Minister. Where there are senior MLAs who have won from Telugu Desam, if there are internal differences within their own party…Jana Sena legislators and TDP officials have nowhere to hide.

The government is clearly saying that the MLA is the ultimate as per the constitution. It sent signals that it will be difficult if it falls on the road. Fed up with this, the leaders of the coalition are continuing to complain about the behavior of the MLAs from time to time. It seems that legislators are giving reports including evidence of corruption, irregularities and partisanship. Financial affairs, mining and liquor syndicates are bringing the government into disrepute. If the MLAs read more than four pages in that direction….Chairmen and senior leaders of key corporations also follow the same pattern. In this direction, exposure of certain affairs….and political heat has become routine. If the government declares development, welfare and administration as pillars….recent developments go without saying that the image is being damaged due to internal affairs. It is known that the government has conducted a key survey at this time. In the survey done on the performance of MLAs and corporation chairmen and the issues of corruption, the survey concluded that the “people’s touch” is very good…the leaders in positions are “detached” from the people….the survey has concluded that they are very “attached” to their own affairs.

It is known that the “People’s Touch” survey was conducted on all 9 topics including corruption, public interaction, participation in governance, and bringing the working process of the government efficiently to the people. While the performance of some is good, there are many negative remarks on the performance of many MLAs in this report. The feedback is that some people are giving priority to publicity rather than people… while others are in the constituency but are not fully accessible to the people. There is a feeling that some MLAs are showing political detachment. The hot topic now is how many legislators do not even cross five marks. There are already criticisms that the personal affairs of legislators are giving the government a bad name. The chief minister has repeatedly warned that strict action will be taken if the behavior is not changed. It is known that people are opposed to the direct and indirect participation of some MLAs mainly in liquor and mining issues. And, even though seniors are available to the voting public, there is feedback that some legislators are acting egoistically.
